SKINLESS DOGS - Need we say more? Naturally, ranged weapons work best. They're not too bright, so one alone is an easy kill. A pack of them, however...let's say they gang up on you...real bad. It's fun to let them pounce, then shoot them right out of the air!

startuppage.jpg

ZOMBIE NURSES - you'll see several of these in the hospital. They walk clumsily toward you, manned by the creatures in their backs. Like all monsters in this game, they are attracted to your light. When they get close, they begin to run, so be ready. The nurses will gang up on you like the child zombies - shake them off and blast 'em with extreme prejudice! Two extreme close-up shots with the shotgun will put them out of their misery.

headless_teddybear.gif

HEADLESS TEDDYBEARS - Somehow these guys lost their heads but made up for it with HUGE FREAKIN' CLAWS! Don't let them gang up on you, they open up a serious can, if you know what I mean. Use ranged weapons to keep them at bay, but if you're low on ammo, it may be best to run!

the_monsters.jpg

Shadows are crawling and so is your skin...the eery silence is broken by the sound of white noise...

Arm yourself with your favorite weapon, because here's who's out to kill you!

flying_demons.gif

FLYING DEMONS- These pteradactyl look-alikes fly fast and like to come up behind you. Run side to side to avoid being konked on the head! Make sure it's dead, or it'll come back. Use ranged weapons. Don't let their pretty pink color fool you - these guys mean business!

startuppage.jpg

HOPPING DEMONS - When you hear the maniacal giggling, get ready to fight! These guys hop around like like kids on a playground then quickly STRADDLE YOU (disturbing) and happily bite your face. Ranged weapons work well, if you're a good shot - keep them at a distance at all costs! If you're not Annie Oakley or low on ammo, I find that the big red hammer works great! Just hold still and swing it - they'll do the rest.

startuppage.jpg

CHILD ZOMBIES - these little creeps have slits for eyes and that's it! Eewww....they want to play with you...and STAB YOU WITH THEIR KNIVES! Just about any weapon works on them, just don't let them corner you. Shake them off of you by pressing X and moving side to side.

startuppage.jpg

ZOMBIE DOCTORS - You'll find a handful of these in, you guessed it, the hospital. Some kind of creature has burrowed itself into the backs of nurses and doctors all over the facility. Watch it squirm - and like a puppet, the doctor obeys! If you kick them when they're down, they grunt like Tim Allen! HA HA

SQUIRMING HYDRA-THING -
He's thirsty!

NO PICTURES, BUT JUST AS NASTY -

BLOODY LEATHER DEMONS: and you thought the Winged Demons were bad! These guys look like what I call them - bloody leather. You can find these hunting in Sanford resort area down by the pier. They make a cool gurgling sound when you kick 'em..

CEILING CRAWLERS: These guys sneak along the sewer ceilings and make little more than clicking sounds. One on one, a hunting rifle is their worst enemy. However, get them in a pack and well, time to change your pants.

MUTANT COCKROACHES: Harry becomes the Orken Man in the school, hospital basement and again in the sewers. They're fast, but don't do much damage. Calmly pick 'em off with your handgun.

BABY BLACK GHOSTS: These little guys are guarunteed to scare the bejeezus out of you the first time around. They squeak and follow you around the elementary school. While roaming Midwitch, however, just ignore them - they're harmless. They develop an attitude problem at Lakeside Amusement Park. Any handy weapon will do.

THE BOSSES:
Occassionally throughout the game, you'll have to fight a boss-type monster. They are bigger, badder and harder to kill than the rest. The story will NOT move forward until you defeat them! They are:

splithead_open.gif

1)SPLIT-HEAD LIZARD MONSTER - Midwitch Elementary School
How do you kill this cranky creature? Read a book, for pete's sake! Just as in the story of the hunter and the lizard, fire the shot gun into the lizard's mouth when it opens. It will take only one good shot on easy level, but more after that.

larvaeboss.jpg

2)LARVAE BOSS - Silent Hill Town Center
Run around screaming like a little girl - no, seriously. Just run around in circles and the larvae will pop up close to you. When you see him, shoot repeatedly until you see only about 4 segments of its body. Repeat this process until it curls up. After that, save your ammo - he'll surrender and show you a way out.

mothra.jpg

3)*badly dubbed and pointing at the sky* OH, NO, IT'S MOTHRA!! Rooftop across the street from Alchemilla Hospital
This is the best method I've found to kill the big moth: Move in one direction around it and stop. Watch it follow and attempt to sting you. *pointing* HA-HA! While it's turning, go back to where you came from and blast it. There's a rythmn to the way it moves - if you pay close attention, you'll get it.

evilcybil.jpg

4)CYBIL BENNETT - Lakeside Amusement Park
Y Tu, Brute?! Cybil's a zombie and now you have to stop her. There are only two ways to do this - use the liquid you found in the hospital or guns a'blazing, scream "DIE, PIG, DIE!!" What you do here determines whether or not you get a + on the ending screen.

glowingalessa.jpg

5)ALESSA - If you didn't run into Dr. Kaufman at the bar and follow the clues, you will have to fight Alessa. She glows and flies around trying to smite you. When you kill her, she thanks you and calls you Daddy...what in the wide world of sports?! Was it all just a bad dream? Did you just kill your daughter? Either way, this is classified as the "BAD" ending.

samaelfrontal.gif

6)SAMAEL - If you saved Dr. Kaufman from the hopping demon and followed the clues, you'll find yourself standing before the big, bad guy himself. Kaufman appears and throws the aglaophotis on Alessa, drawing Samael out of her body. He will waste no time in trying to smite you. (Can't we all just get along?) Avoid the lightening strikes and blast away. He turns back into Alessa, who then gives you a consolation prize and opens a portal for you. If you're scratching your head, you're not alone. See the "What the Hell?" page if you want some answers. (In my opinion, anyway.)
